On December 3rd, we received a call from Archer Hotel in Florham Park telling us that we could come to pick up linens, making this our 4th pickup. We were quickly shocked, yet thrilled when told there were 35-40 bags full of linens to be picked up. As this was out of nowhere, we had to find a few available members to be able to help with loads of linens. Being a short notice but longer trip, attendance from members was low. However,  Joyce and Mya (chapter presidents), Maddy (recruitment officer), Natalie (secretary), and Connor (chapter member) were eager to help out.

Arriving at the hotel, we were met with a welcoming and friendly staff that directed us towards where the linens were kept. We struggled a bit while transporting the three large crates to our cars, but an observing hotel staff member was quick to assist us in bringing the linens to the 4 cars. As we loaded up the bags, our cars were soon stuffed with linens. Running into issues with bags frequently ripping had delayed us slightly, but it was nothing we couldn’t handle. The small challenges we faced will be kept in mind during future pickups, making sure to prevent a recurrence.

With our committed and hardworking members paired with the helpful hotel staff, our 4th pickup was extremely successful. The linens from this pickup will mainly be donated to Market Street Mission in Morristown, NJ. We look forward to our upcoming hotel pickups and donations, seeing that many linens we will donate in the future.
