Upon arriving at the warehouse, I was immediately greeted by the volunteers working from Patriots and Paws! There were so many kind volunteers who offered to bring carts to unload the linens from my car! They even asked if they could place the carts over by their sign for pictures! After collecting the linens, one of the volunteers walked me through the inside of their warehouse. The walls and shelves were filled with couches, chairs, art pieces, lamps, and so much more- and all of it was donated! Just outside the warehouse were storage units filled with mattresses and tables. Right next to it was what Patriots and Paws call the “Wall of Burdens,” a white picket fence where clients could write down their burdens and leave them behind. The overall experience was so very pleasant and wholesome, and I look forward to one day getting to work with the volunteers there again!
Hello! My name is Celeste Esqueda, and I am 17 years old. I attend Yorba Linda High School as a senior, and I am currently the school’s Linens N Love chapter president. Through LNL, I have been able to channel my love for volunteering and helping others into the work the organization has to offer. Outside of LNL, I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, baking, and more. One thing you might find interesting about me: I have a super big family. Over 40 cousins on my dad’s side alone! I am super passionate about a lot of things, but one thing that sticks out to me in particular is my passion for women’s rights. Here’s to finding excitement and new experiences in everything that we do!
